Rosie O' Donnell Named Co-Host of the View, What?

A nightmare...

Tell me this is a dream. On the evening of April 28th, Access Hollywood had a story that stated the unthinkable. What was it? They said that Rosie O' Donnell was named as the new co-host for the View. O' Donnell is set to replace the exiting Meredith Vieira. We just don't deserve this.

The Upside: O' Donnell is certainly well-known, an Emmy winner. She will bring name recognition and possibly a lot of fans to the show.

The Downside Unfiltered: Are they crazy? Don't they have enough noise on the View? That show is an insane asylum. In the past few years O' Donnell's become a bit odd. Her appearances are sporadic and a tad off-kilter. She's replacing the sane one in the group, yeah, great idea. Talk about almost begging people to watch Judge Alex...

A No-Win Situation: I can't see how O' Donnell is going to help Star Jones stay any longer. Even if one leaves, one probably stays--and if they both stay...Ahh forget it, I'm about to hurl...

This is really weird. They already have a comedian, thy name is Joy. Wouldn't they want someone with a little...um...credibility?

It is weird Donny. That on top of the fact that Rosie O' Donnell and Star Jones clearly don't get along. Maybe this is a way to get Star to quit.

At this point they probably need ratings. A traffic cop type personality should have been picked, but I guess they want to make the View an even louder show.

The View just got a lot uglier. I mean reeeeeaaaally UGLY!!! Another reason to NOT watch it.

This show's going to be a mess! LOL

I think it's going to be impossible for us to take a little time and enjoy the View. Ha!

Shame on you for even suggesting ANYONE in their right minds watch that stiff Judge Alex. I mean is he sleeping with someone at the top? Does he have some dirt on someone at the top?

See it's all your fault. All that wishful thinking you put into who should stay/go as "The View" co-host has backfired on you. I always say "leave well enough alone." LOL...ok, I never say that.

The addition of Rosie O'Donnell doesn't make much sense to me. However, I don't watch the show. Has she been a guest host before? What happened to all those rejects that applied to be the new co-host of "Live with Regis..." years ago when Kathi Lee was terminated? Is ABC telling us they weren't available? ABC and/or whatever company produces The View must have a deal with Rosie for other projects. That's the only way this casting option makes sense to me.

I actually want more drama on The View. I think Rosie's a great addition. I'd like to see them get rid of the blonde chick and replace her with Kathy Griffin or something.

I just want to see all of them throwing down.

Shawn, I think Judge Alex is a robot. I've never seen him away from his bench... But this View thing might drive people to watch all of those judge shows.

Rosie's been on the View, guest hosted and got into with Star Jones. If I'm not mistaken, Star was able to skip Rosie's subsequent appearances. LOL@ Leave well enough alone. I actually say that...

I agree, ABC had to have a lot of women to ask instead of Rosie. There had to be a good 20 ro 30 candidates, maybe more.

Michelle, I think this move was to create drama, ratings, etc. Given Rosie and Star's history, there's got to be a fight in their future. Kathy Griffin with this group might be too much, but I bet Hasselbeck is getting replaced with someone...

The View is the closest competitor to The Price is Right, but only gets half the audience. Shows in the 11 AM time slot are just competing to see who can lose the least bad to that show.

Isn't that a sad state of affairs, two of the worst shows opposite one another. Sadly, I don't see either of them ending too soon.

In my area Ellen DeGeneres is on at 11AM but yeah a lot of shows can't even compete with the View. Oddly enough, the worse it gets, the more entertaining it becomes--but the novelty should wear off soon.
