Pop Culture Idiot Achiever of the Minute: Jeroen Krabbé

Hey ya'll prepare yourselves, it's Jeroen Jeroen, Jeroen Krabbé.

Jeroen Krabbé is a distingushed character actor. In fact I can't think of anyone who quite captures his morally flawed characters and out and out skullduggery nearly as well. He does his dirty deeds with an evil glint in his eye. And that phony smile, you know trouble's coming when you see that. I recently caught his unctuous turn in 1993's The Fugitive. His big moment, in my opinion was this awards dinner when Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) caught up to him. Now, Krabbé was so in his role as Dr. Charles Nichols I felt bad that Harrison had to interrupt him. The look Jeroen gave when he first saw Kimble was priceless. And guess what? Always the gentleman, Krabbé excused himself, fought with Harrison Ford on the roof, I turned away at that point. It wasn't going to be a good night for Dr. Nichols one way or the other...

Check out Mr. Chuckles...

One of my great cinematic joys is listening to Jeroen Krabbe say the word "Ree-chard" over and over again in The Fugitive. Such as "Do you need some money, Reechard?" or "Reechard, please I am in the middle of a speech. Everyone enjoy your coffee" before he tries to take Dr. Kimble out to the veranda and beat the shite out of him. That's a classy ass-kickin', or as I call it, a class-kickin'.

Thank God for this site, honestly.

I just saw this, thanks Bill. Was that a great fight or what? I was hoping for a Krabbe death scene but I think he was lead off in a police car, I could be wrong... LOL@Reechard. I loved how Krabbe tried to act normal when Harrison Ford was yelling at him at that gathering. That was classic :)
